Ways You Can Help Those Effected by the Earthquake in Haiti
The State Department Operations Center has set up the following number for Americans seeking information about family members in Haiti: 1-888-407-4747 (due to heavy volume, some callers may receive a recording). Our embassy is still in the early stages of contacting American Citizens through our Warden Network. Communications are very difficult within Haiti at this time. . To help with relief efforts, text "HAITI" to "90999" and $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross, charged to your cell phone bill.
The Forest Lake Church has also established a fund called “Haiti Relief”. Donations to the fund can either be put in a tithe envelope and marked “Haiti Relief” on the line titled “Other” or donated through our Online Giving (click on the "Add More Offerings" option and add "Haiti Relief" to the online tithe envelope). You can also text the word "ADRA" to 85944, reply "YES" and donate $10 to ADRA's Haiti Earthquake Response Fund.
