Cross Connections
The "Cross" in our name stands not only for our focus on Christ but our desire to cross over the boundaries of our comfort zone and get to know each other on a deeper level. It is our goal as a ministry to create opportunities to make social "Connections" that continues beyond Sabbath morning worship. We want to help Cross Connect everyone in our Deeper family by engaging in social activities, this will create an opportunity for the stranger sitting next to you in church become your friend. We hope each of you will participate in our upcoming events and activities.
Reaching Deeper Potluck Picnic
Saturday February 27th
Join us for our first ever "Reaching Deeper Potluck Picnic" and help make it one to remember!
Please keep in touch with us and let us know what you will be bringing so that we can prepare accordingly. We hope to share food, smiles and a good time with those in need and the surrounding community so any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
We will be at Alonzo Williams Park in Apopka from 1-3pm Saturday February 27th. (directions below)
The idea of the event is to have a potluck style picnic where we share with others outside of our immediate circle. We will get to know each other a little better, and maybe help someone in need. We ask that you please bring your favorite dish, and make a little extra to share with others, and that you bring a 2 liter of your favorite drink to share as well.
We also need help with the following items, so if you are able to donate a few or a lot it will be greatly appreciated:
- ice
- disposable plates
- plastic flatware (forks, spoons knives)
- garbage bags
- disposable cups
We will have a covered area, a couple of pop up tents, a few tables, a generator, picnic tables and bleacher seating available. If you have any questions or ideas to make it a more successful event please let us know. We are open to any suggestions.
If anyone is unsure on how to get to the park, we will meet right after Deeper is over in the parking lot and leave to go to the park.
